A farmer had seven sons. All were indolent and just wasted time going here and there the day long. The farmer often advised them to work as they had grown up. He advised them to help him but they always turned a deaf ear on their father's advice. Now he had become old and remained ill. He was no more able to do hard work in the fields. That is why they could not get good produce that year. The farmer called his sons and said, "1 have become old and ill too may be I would be no more with you soon. Today I want to tell you a secret. Listen to me very carefully and do not let anybody know about it in the village" by listening to their father the sons enclosed to their father and said, "Father hurry up, tell us what is that secret"? The farmer said, "long time ago I had found a treasure. I got very excited to have that treasure, but at that time I did not need that treasure so I dug up a hole in the fields and hid treasure in that hole and thought to hand over you that in your youth. But as the time passed my memory became week and now I have totally forgotten the exact place where I had hidden the treasure.

The farmer's sons reached the fields and started digging up the fields.

I want each one of you to dig up the fields, in this way we can find the treasure" The sons got too much excited by listening about the treasure from their father. They said to their father, "Father don't you worry, we will find the treasure soon". The next day farmer's sons got up early morning, reached the fields and started digging up the fields but they could not find the treasure even after digging the whole day. In the evening they went home and told their father that they could not find treasure even after digging. At listening to the sons the father smiled and said, "My children! I already knew that there was no buried treasure in the fields".

The farmer and his sons are happy to see the crop.

The sons became very disappointed at listening to their father but before they could ask something to their father the farmer himself said, "you never showed interest in agriculture so I played trick with you and made you plough the fields. Tomorrow we will all sow the seeds in the fields and then you will see how good our crop will be at last". The next day farmer sew the seeds. The soil was well ploughed which proved very useful for the crop. After sometime when the crop became ripened the farmer said to his sons, "Look! How good our crop is just because of your hard work. Now you tell me what else we need after having this treasure?" The farmer's sons had understood their father's intention. They promised that they would never show indolence in future.
