A Road Accident Essay
Road accidents are a common occurrence that results in immense pain and suffering, loss of life, and property damage. They can happen anytime anywhere, and one cannot predict such accidents which often cause death or permanent disability. I myself had witnessed a horrific accident while travelling back to home from college.
It was a typical evening; I was sitting in my car, listening to music, and enjoying the ride back to my home. As usual, the roads were congested, and the traffic was moving slowly. Suddenly, I heard a loud noise, and my head jerked towards the left. I could not believe what I saw.
In front of me, on the highway, there was a car that had hit another car. The accident happened due to the overspeeding and rash driving of one of the drivers. The car that was hit had been thrown to the side of the road, but the other car had been completely destroyed. It was disfigured, and the debris was scattered all over. The driver of the car was badly injured and was lying on the road, bleeding profusely. The people in the vicinity were screaming, and some were trying to help the injured driver.
I had never witnessed such a terrifying and gruesome sight in my life. It was terrible to see the driver lying there, helpless and in pain, while the crowd was trying to do everything to help him. It was very hard to see the physical and emotional trauma that this accident had caused.
The arrival of the ambulance was a relief, and the driver was rushed to the hospital. However, the scene of the accident remained, with the debris scattered around, a constant reminder of the intensity of the accident. The incident was hard to forget, and the image of the destroyed car and the injured driver remained with me for a long time.
This accident had a profound impact on me. I realized that an accident can happen at any time, and that could change your life in an instant. It is essential to follow traffic rules and regulations on the road so that one can avoid accidents. Speeding, not wearing a seatbelt, and drunk driving are some of the primary reasons for the cause of numerous accidents. It was due to these reasons that the accident had occurred on the highway.
It is crucial to understand that following traffic rules and driving safely saves someone else's life as well. There are many innocent people on the road who are heading towards their destination, and irresponsible driving can harm them. One must always drive responsibly, follow traffic rules and regulations, and be alert on the road. Moreover, always wear a seatbelt, avoid phone calls or sending texts, never drink and drive or drive under the influence of drugs.
In conclusion, the road accident that I witnessed proved to be a traumatic and life-changing experience. It made me realize the importance of safety on the road and to always abide by traffic rules and regulations. It's not just a driver's safety, but safety for passengers, pedestrians and other drivers on the road. Accidents not only cause physical harm, but they can also leave an emotional scar that takes a lot of time to heal. We must be responsible drivers and drive safely to prevent accidents and ensure safety on the road.
