The Ungrateful Snake
The greatest kindness will not bind the ungrateful.

It was hailing and Zain was shivering with cold. To protect himself from the cold wind he wanted to reach home as soon as possible where his wife and children were waiting for him. Zain was going hurriedly when he saw a snake near the bushes on his way so he stopped there. The snake was unconscious due to the cold.

In first glance Zain thought that the snake had died but when he touched the snake with a stick the snake moved. Zain had understood that the snake could not move due to the cold. He was feeling pity for the snake. He held the snake from the neck, put him in his bag and brought him home. By reaching home Zain put the snake near the burning stove. The wife and the children of Zain got frightened to see the snake but Zain consoled them that it would not harm you.

Actually the snake was almost dead due to the cold. But as the fire heated him he started moving. Zain took a ceramic bowl, poured some hot milk in it and put the bowl before the snake. Snake reached to the bowl by creeping and started drinking milk hurriedly. Zain's children were getting excited to see the snake. As the snake finished milk he became powerful and fresh and started creeping here and there. Zain's children gathered around him to see him.

Now as the snake saw the children he hissed and tried to bite the children. As Zain saw that the snake was trying to bite children he took a stick and hit the snake with it. The snake became outrageous at once. Zain's family got frightened to see the scene. Zain saw the dying snake and said: you scoundrel! I saved you from the cold and brought you home and you rewarded me by attacking my children. But today I have understood that it is useless to do goodness with a tormentor like you"
