Reindeer and Lion Story Moral
Punishment for Being Thankless
Long time ago there lived a reindeer in a forest. One day the reindeer was grazing in the lush green grass. The reindeer felt thirsty when his stomach was filled with food. Nearby, there was a stream of clean water in the forest. The reindeer went near the stream to drink some water. When the reindeer bent down to drink water he saw his reflection in the water of the stream. The reindeer was very happy to see his reflection in the clean water of the stream. He was pleased to see that the long and strong horns on his head had made him look very beautiful.
He thought of himself to be the most beautiful animal of the whole jungle. The reindeer thought that the horns on his head were actually his crown and because of this he should be the king of the jungle not the lion. The reindeer was feeling proud of his great big horns that all of a sudden he noticed his thin and weak legs. The reindeer became very sad when he noticed his ugly looking legs and he wished if his legs were also as beautiful as his horns. After looking at his ugly legs for a while the reindeer returned towards his home in sadness. The reindeer was cursing his legs on the way back to his home.
The reindeer is running fast. |
Suddenly a lion attacked him. As soon as the reindeer saw the lion aheading towards him, he ran fast into the deep forest. The thin legs of the reindeer really helped him to run faster than the lion. The lion was left far behind when the reindeer started running. After a while when the reindeer looked back to see how far was the lion, suddenly his long and beautiful horns got stuck in the bushes. The reindeer became very worried when his horns were stuck in the bushes. He started shaking his head to free his horns from the bush but his horns got more entangled in bush.
The lion jumped to catch the deer with his pointed claws and killed him right away. |
Now the reindeer realised that his thin and weak legs were more useful and worthy than his long and strong horns as his legs helped him to run faster than the lion to save his life. The reindeer kept trying to free himself from the bush but was unable to do so. The lion reached near him and jumped to catch him with his pointed claws and killed him right away.
