There are three characters in this story. The one is turtle and the second is scorpion.
Story:
There lived a turtle and a scorpion in a forest. Both had fast friendship. They lived together the day long and stroll together too.

A stream also flowed in that forest. All the animals drank water from that stream. One day the turtle and scorpion decided to stroll across the stream. As the scorpion could not swim so he rode on the back of the turtle and in this way both of them started crossing the stream. The scorpion seemed very happy as he had got the opportunity to stroll in the stream for the first time. As they both reached in the centre of the stream the turtle heard the sound of "Khaat Khaat". It seemed that the scorpion was hitting his back with something.

The turtle kept on pondering the sound and when he understood the situation he asked the scorpion: "Brother scorpion!! What sort of sound is this?" The scorpion replied: "Do not you worry my friend. I am stinging your back." The turtle said to scorpion: "Why are you doing this as we are very good friends?" The scorpion replied laughing: "I cannot help it as it is my habit to sting." When the turtle heard this he really got hurt. He started thinking: "The scorpion is not a true friend. I am doing good to him and he is trying to harm me.
The turtle dived into the water, and the scorpion drowning in the stream in this way. |
Now it has become necessary to teach a lesson to this thankless. "As the turtle decided it, he dived into the water. The scorpion shouted with fear: "What are you doing my friend? I will be drowning in the stream in this way." The turtle replied carelessly: "I am compelled by my nature as it is my habit to dive in water." By saying this the turtle dived deeply in the water and the scorpion sank. In this way he received the punishment for his doing.
