The ant and the grasshopper summary:
It was the month of June. The hot weather was at its peak and all the creatures were in great trouble including birds, insects and human beings. Despite the heat, the little ants were busy carrying eatables to their tiny homes. Some of them carried grains and some carried rice for their food storage. They all marched in a disciplined manner towards their little homes. On the path where the ants were moving, there was a big shady tree surrounded by soft, lush green grass. Somewhere near the tree a naughty but lazy grasshopper named, Fanny lived. Fanny liked to spend his whole day singing silly songs and playing games with his friends. All day long he would remain busy playing around with other insects and bugs. One day when Fanny saw the ants carrying food items to their homes he said to them, "In this hot weather every living creature is so badly disturbed and you foolish ants are busy carrying the load of all these food items. Just forget about all this hard work. Come and listen to my song.

Come and relax under the shade of this tree like l am doing."
One ant replied, "We cannot come out of our homes during rain and winters that is why we are collecting food for storage, so that we can feed our little ones during the rainy and cold days. You must not waste your time and it would be better if you also think about the rainy days and start storing food for winters. You should also think about collecting food for winters and must not waste your time singing like this." On this Fanny replied, "It is surely good to think about the future but winter season is quite far. Right now these hot days are just to relax and have fun. Why don't you just take rest right now and when the weather will get a little better we will quickly collect food together.” Fanny started singing again and the ants did not pay attention to the words of Fanny. They kept on working hard to store food. The ants knew that Fanny was a careless and lazy grasshopper.

The days of summer kept on passing, then the rainy season began with rain. The weather started getting cold and shortly after winters. The snow started falling all around. The weather became very cold and it was impossible for the little insects to come out of their homes. Fanny also stayed inside his home all day. He had stopped singing songs and remained sad all the time. Fanny had nothing to eat and it was all snow outside. He could not even find food anywhere. One day when he was crying with hunger, he thought of the ants. as they had collected food for this winter season. He decided to go to them and asked for help.

The ant and the grasshopper ending:
So he walked on the snow to reach the ants place and asked them, "Dear ants, I am very hungry and I do not have anything to eat I request you to please help me in this time of trouble." When the ants heard this they replied, "Fanny, when we were working hard to collect food for winter storage, you used to make fun of us and used to think that we were fools. But now you have realised that who was actually a fool?" Fanny realised that he was wrong to think of ants to be foolish and he felt really embarrassed. He thought that the ants would not give him food, so he was about to leave in disappointment. But the ants felt sorry for him and shared a little portion of their food with the silly grasshopper who wasted all his summer time fooling around.
